WARNING - Leadgate Crossroads - Traffic Lights
Be extremely careful if driving through Leadgate for the next 5 weeks. The lights are pretty much useless as road/pedestrians pathways are in the process of being re-vamped as part of our particular regeneration. We've had quite a few near-misses already and a teenager was knocked of his bike a few days past (though perhaps not a fault of the lights). If you're a pedestrian be even more careful!
IF PLANNING TO PASS THROUGH LEADGATE TO OR FROM CONSETT, GOOD IDEA TO USE THE BY-PASS FOR THE TIME BEING!
This is Phase II of Leadgate's Urban Regeneration and we hope worth the hassle. Looking good so far and links-in with earlier Front Street work. Sad we lost the NE1 (ANYONE/ANYMORE) input this year and even sadder the Top Shop/Gap complementary project is still on hold. Sadder yet that one or two mindless folks (and not just teenagers) continue to do things that spoil it for the majority and cause money to be wasted cleaning up afterwards.
