Leadgate & District Local History Association

Leadgate and District Local History Association Web Page

This is the web page provided for the use of the Leadgate & District Local History Association and current information (as at today) is shown below. This is one of the most popular and active clubs in Leadgate with a programme to match.

The association is thriving but always needs and welcomes new members as well as information in the form of stories (often containing anecdotal evidence), old photographs, maps, artifacts (but not too many as storage and display space is limited). Individual members each have their own particular interests, skills and expertise to match as well as their own networks

Meetings at 2.00 p.m every 2nd Thursday each month except months July and August and are held in the Leadgate Methodist Church Hall. There are also occasional coffee mornings. The next AGM is planned for Thursday, 10th January 2013 at 3.15 p.m.

At the beginning of each meeting there will be a guest speaker who will commence his or her talk at 2.p.m.

However, the doors will be open at 1.45 p.m. Please be seated by 2.00 p.m. before the speaker starts his or her talk and then general meeting can commence without interruption.

All are welcome.

NOTICE to Members and Visitors.

There will no longer be any membership fee as your first paid visit will automatically make you a member of the society. The charge for attending a talk, including coffee/tea and biscuits, will be £1.
