Graffiti!?********
It struck us that though we keep banging on about “old and young, working together…” there’s not too much on our website for the latter but plenty for the former!
So here’s something a bit different. Most of us old folks have forgotten why we all did Graffiti at some time in our lives. We forget you see but I personally seem to remember some of these reasons and you can probably think of more examples to add.
A. A way of getting attention (but not too much)? To shock and show how cool we are.
B. A way of expressing our individual creativity? Hey look, I really can paint cool things.
C. I live here does anyone care, how much can I get away with?
As we get older, most of us find different ways of expressing ourselves. Trouble is, something yet to be discovered by young folks, nothing really changes; we just get older, maybe wiser, and learn that there’s a cost to everything.
Sometimes it’s better not to draw attention to ourselves and besides, the money that’s spent cleaning up might be better spent on helping others.
So here’s the deal. This space is for all you graffiti artists. Do it here, be as creative as you want but leave my wall alone. Start with some words in a comment and if that doesn’t get it out of your system, contact us for a password. Then you can do something really cool and build a graffiti webpage and express yourself to your heart’s content! Some bidy might even take some notice!
